DRINKLY HIRES BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER TO ACCELERATE RETAILER NETWORK GROWTH AHEAD OF £250,000 CROWDFUND CAMPAIGN

Award-winning drinks-on-demand tech platform www.drinkly.co.uk has hired a business development manager to accelerate the growth of its UK retailer network before it embarks on a crowdfund campaign later this month to raise £250,000 in seed funding.

A highly experienced sales trainer, Shabaz Ali (37) has dedicated fourteen years of his working life in telecoms developing and delivering training programmes for the likes of BSKYB and Convergys EMEA. His career in sales began with Everest Ltd in 2000 and such was his success rate - he consistently met and exceeded all sales targets – he was promoted to team manager within six months.

Since joining the Drinkly team, Shabaz has recruited close to 40 drinks retail outlets across the UK onto the Drinkly.co.uk marketplace, significantly improving Drinkly’s geographical reach and sales capability.

Commenting on his appointment, John Robertson, said: “Shabaz is the epitome of the natural-born salesman; a highly motivated and results-driven individual he was not daunted by the challenge we set him to onboard 30 retailers by the end of the year. In fact, he’s smashed it.

“Next month we will be launching our first public raise through Seedrs, aiming to secure £250,000 in seed funding to further build our team to recruit more retailers; set out and implement an overarching marketing strategy and develop our technology to make sure we’re at the top of our game at all times.

“2020 will therefore mark a real turning point for Drinkly,” he concluded, “in the evolution of our business model and strategy as we drive forward our ambition to become the number one UK drinks-on-demand delivery service.”
