CASKSHARE OPENS BALLOT FOR RARE SPRINGBANK 30YO CASK

The demand for £1,625 bottles of a rare Springbank 30YO malt whisky has been so extraordinary that Caskshare has opened a ballot to allow hopefuls to register to buy one of 135 bottles from the single cask, which will be one of few 30YO malts to be bottled in 2023.

The average value of a 30YO expression from the Campbeltown distillery has soared to £3,756.30 per bottle (Whiskybase) and the Rare Whisky Apex 1000 index put Springbank in the top 10, also citing it the brand that showed the most appreciation in the first half of 2021.

Small wonder that fifteen bottles were snapped up within one hour of the cask being listed on Caskshare’s website, leading to the company removing it from public sale to open up the opportunity for whisky fans across the UK to own a bottle from Drinks International’s ‘most admired whisky brand’.  Several hundred have since joined the ballot, which closes at 9am on Monday 21st November.
